WIBA Saturday!
One of the WIBA weekend bike groups just before hitting the road.Wow well we've had thunder and lightning, rain, sun, perfect breezes, headwinds and crosswinds, but by far the most memorable were the fricking beautiful, beautiful tailwinds after it all, what an amazing day.
At the Great Dane Pub tonight I heard a bunch of different stories from people reminiscing about their experiences, some folks pulled off and took cover in a random barn while the storm blew over, some people - like many of us - were camped out at a Quikie Mart all huddled and teeth chattering over Combos and Rice Krispie treats the size of your shoe, while still others were stuck out there hammering away on down hills and trying not to freak out upon noticing their brakes were suddenly less than helpful. There were laughs and laughs and lots of good times all around, regardless of the circumstances. In fact, I think it was because of the circumstances, and that's what makes this weekend un-suckable ladies and gentlemen, no matter what. These people just rock.
Big run early in the morning, so I'll update with a full report later (and more pics), but for tonight I'll leave you with some more teaser highlights from the day:
1. Steve, it's magnificent.
2. Hey, entire population of the Great Dane Brew Pub, do I have a muffin top? Look, seriously no look, do I have a muffin top??
3. There was a sheep's head in the water? What kind of crazy cult sacrifices do you guys do in Ohio??
4. I looked up and there were just butts. Just naked butts and that was all.
5. And you know what, the whole trip was worth it for just those ten minutes... beautiful. It was just beautiful....

#1: Thank you.
Hey, I meant it!
I think it's refreshing to see that there are a few cyclists without aerobars in the mix - here's to cycling in all its iterations!
