And So It Begins...
It's been a while since I've been up this early - did I mention with it still being midnight dark?? - having had already accomplished something in addition to not maiming myself on the way out of bed for the day. And that feels good. Oddly enough though I'm feeling a lot older this time around, no matter that it's really only been a year since I was up and actually productive at 4:00 a.m., dragging myself to the pool by 5:00. This however, despite the history of success, is a lot harder than I remember it being, and I don't know if that's the result of post Ironman "been there - done that" syndrome, or just that a year really does make that much of a difference in the whole Mind/Body synch up. As soon as there aren't so many expletives being tossed around in the conversations between those two by the way, I'll be sure to post the gambit of back and forths once again. Family show here, you know?
So anyway. Four miles down, two of them at 8:20, which is nothing short of a gift from some running god somewhere, presumably to encourage me to keep at it - the "good penmanship!" sticker on an otherwise mediocre spelling test - but, keep at it I will. There's a whole lot of work to do before I'll have any write about it worthy, epically spectacular, Big Easy comeback.

Oh my I didn't know you were doing that race...yay!! Wish I was too...
Man...I coudn't wake up that early for a workout continually. I did it for a few long runs, but I couldn't do that for a long period of time.
I'll be right with you in a couple of weeks after marathon recovery. I've picked out the trainer I want for my birthday...
I'd say getting up at 4am, for any reason, is amazingly worthy of at least that "good penmanship" sticker. You're nuts. But that's prolly one of the reasons I luv ya so much! ;^)
Two more weeks of freedom! And I'll be right there at it in the mornings with ya. Sounds like you had a good start to your program!

Lord... I can't even fathom "starting" to train for something at this point :-)
Yea for new goals! You'll get used to the early morning routine... it's all about routines, right? The key will be trying to figure out how to go to bed at 8:00 PM. HA!
I hate the darkness too. It tells me to stay in bed.
Good luck! I know someone who'll be training along with you. Oh wait, she commented on this already anyway...
Thumbs up from me! 4 AM is a little extreme but you gotta do what you gotta do.
You're a rock star! How you can keep coming back to 4 am wake-ups, rolling right into getting kids ready for school, then getting yourself to work is simply amazing.
